Welcome to Summerlin West, a neighborhood nestled in the foothills along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, hence being a part of the master-planned community of Summerlin. Luxurious, convenient, quiet, and tastefully designed, Summerlin West makes up one of the most popular and fastest-growing master-planned communities in Las Vegas. Furthermore, it is adjacent to the internationally renowned Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area.
Fun Fact: In 1952, the famous film director and casino mogul Howard Hughes purchased land in Southern Nevada. Because he did this, it made him the Las Vegas Valley’s largest landowner. Despite his initial intentions, he ultimately chose not to relocate his company to Nevada, so the purchased land remained undeveloped and empty for decades. In 1988, the corporation announced that it would be developing the empty acres of land into a master-planned commercial and residential community. Consequently, they named the project “Summerlin”, after Hughes’ paternal grandmother, Jean Amelia Summerlin.
This neighborhood features guard-gated homes, gated homes, golf course homes, and open access to residential homes. Residents can closely view the brilliant red sandstone formations of the surrounding mountains on one side. Furthermore having spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip, downtown, and the entire valley on the other.
Villages combine together to make these neighborhoods spectacular. This is due to the villages containing community parks, schools, retails, and business centers. The neighborhood of Summerlin West has 5 villages as a part of it. They are:
